You may be missing the point here. Ernie is illustrating the absurd by being absurd.

You realize, do you not, that this data is ALREADY being given out freely to people calling themselves "The People's Committee to Fill In the Blank" but they have to do it by purchasing it from the Demopublicans. We argue that collecing the data AT ALL is a violation of your privacy. So... if the Republocrats are going to weild power over your privacy by selling your privacy at a cheaper rate than the state... we are going to take that power away from them by making FREE what is illegally sold and illegally collected.

I do not fully agree with the method. I fully agree with the invalidity of the collection and sale of the product. I fully agree with the notion of taking out of the hands of power mongers and influence peddlers. The data IS sold to anyone whom the Parties APPROVE of for use in any venture. You privacy is already GONE. Lets make if free and cut off the head of the pushers.

political organizations get the data? What will stop me from arbitrarily saying I am the chairman of "People for the Ethical Treatment of Computers" and getting the database? >
