Dear Senators,
Congratulations on your committee being scheduled as the first to consider HB 2095, which is designed to pump some meaning into ARS 13-3108, the firearms preemption statute.
For those on the committee who are in favor of the concept of peaceful citizens having the means to defend themselves (and you know who you are), I want you to know that we have awoken from our slumber and stand poised to support you in this fight. When you read our e-mails in the coming days, please see them as offering you the strength you will need to help us breathe life into Article 2, Section 26 of the Arizona Constitution which declares, "The right of the individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself or the State shall not be impaired..."
For those on the committee who feel that my wife is better off leaving her Glock 23 at home as she hikes the Phoenix Mountain parks...(and you know who your are), we would like to begin scheduling meetings with you so that we can understand how you could come to such a conclusion in the face of a mountain of criminological evidence to the contrary.
Please respond as soon as possible since it will be difficult to schedule all of us very much later in the session. If we do not hear any responses from the gunphobes on the committee (and you know who you are), we will just assume that you have an "open door" policy.
Thank you,
Rick DeStephens Glendale, Az www.brassroots.org
