Thank you for your E-mail dated Jaunary 16, 2000 regarding tax dollars being used for stadiums.
I agree with you 100%. I was quoted in a Republic editorial as saying, during a debate on the floor regarding stadium subsidies, that if they wouldn't pay the players $11 million salaries, they could pay for their own stadiums. Public subsidies make excessive salaries possible, and at the expense of many taxpayers who can't afford tickets. I have fought hard against stadium subsidies and will continue to do so.
