Detroit mayor surprised by gun sell-off
DETROIT, Aug. 25 (UPI) - Detroit's mayor plans (Wednesday) to review city policy after discovering that his police department leads the nation's big cities in sales of used guns. A CBS News report about police gun sales surprised Mayor Dennis Archer, whose city is among a dozen currently suing gun manufacturers, and prompted Police Chief Benny Napoleon to acknowledge the sell-off of nearly 14 tons of older police handguns and shotguns since 1992.
