Re: Gun Ban Agenda Worsens

Dear Editor,

When is a murder in Michigan news in Arizona? On the day you trumpeted a single death two thousand miles away, 200 people woke up dead in America because their doctors killed them, by mistake (Ariz. Republic, 11/30/99, A1). Some died right near you. Some were killed by the same doctors, in the same hospitals. None wanted to die.

The doctors don't want you to know who exactly they are because you might -- get this -- sue. Every day you continue with the single drug-and-theft-related fatality half a continent away, you neglect to report that doctors mistakenly killed another 200 people, again. Imagine the political landscape if you reversed emphasis.

Then, when some websites were forced offline for a few hours, you covered it for days. But when the FBI turns off the computer that controls national firearm sales, for more than eight full days so far, you give this breach of our Constitution zero space.

And now, thanks to reporting like yours, my president wants to take my household firearms away. You should be ashamed of the distorted picture you present, and the damage you are doing to the Bill of Rights.

Sincerely,
Alan Korwin, Author
