in a very interesting article in the new york times on sunday feb 20, 2000 on page 13 called "lying to get the bad guys" a government lawyer talked about how cops often lie to get bad guys convicted.
he said the cops really dont consider the lying to be pejury because they are just doing whats needed to put bad guys in jail.
he talked about one case where the cops framed a guy who was a theft for murder. luckly the guy didnt get convicted.
one cop he quoted said the guy should have never been framed for murder. but the same cop who said he didnt think their would be anything wrong framing the guy for theft because well the guy was a theft.
i learned a new police slang term. its "tightening up a case"
police use it when they talk about lying to get some one convicted of a crime.
its really sad when the police are bigger criminals then the criminals.
