I wish to express my increased sense of safety over the few years with the policies of our government in regard to the safety of my society and my family. For instance, I am SO relieved that out of concern for the safety of people, the Feds required airbags in cars. The fact that hundreds of short adults and children have been killed by these airbags in crashes that would otherwise have been surviveable is irrelevant. They meant well. I feel much safer with those Branch Davidians being brought to self-immolation. (Please don't tell me they didn't burn themselves. I know better. The government told me so.) I am also incredibly relieved that the President has offered to let those poor Puerto Rican political prisioners out now that they've signed papers saying that they don't believe in the use of violence anymore. I know I can trust him and them to be true to their word. I am relieved that the State subsidizes the production of tobacco, a wonderful plant with so many healthy uses, and keeps that demon marijuana out of the hands of those desperate, criminally intentioned cancer patients who might do who knows what if allowed to use such a dangerous drug. And finally, I'm grateful that the State does it's best to keep firearms out of the hands of privat citizens who might use them for such nefarious purposes as self defense with excessive force, and keeps them in the hands of proper State agents who have never overstepped the bounds of reasonable force, shot the wrong person, or killed a bystander in the efforts to stop a dangerous traffic offender.
Yes, I'm much happier now. Time for another Prozac and chocolate.
