TSN.ca's Scouting Report

Assets

Has a huge frame for the goaltending position and plenty of collegiate experience.
Flaws

Will probably need plenty of minor-pro seasoning before he entertains thoughts of competing for a backup role in the NHL.
Career potential

Eklund could emerge as a late-round success story for the Lightning, especially since the club isn't deep at the goaltending position. However, his NHL future may be limited to backup duty.

Tid-bits (From 2002-2003 Ice Pilot Game Program "Flightline"): Spends spare time doing laundry, playing video games and boogie boarding...Attributes his success to hard work...Calls Braintree, MA his hometown...His greatest hockey moment was as a finalist at the Quebec Pee Wee Tournament.

Fans in section 108 at the Hangar hail the "X-Man" after he makes another big save.
