and Jewell and to Sharon and Bill for all the wonderful pictures.
When writing about the reunion, I think Ronnie said it best:
Ronnie:
"Funny how you haven't seen anyone in several years, but if you keep looking
at them, it all comes back.... There were several letters from some that
couldn't make it, and it was a joy to get to read a little about them.
Sure brings the memories flooding back. Goodness! We had it great
and didn't even know it. I had forgotten how close we all were until
this reunion....The things a person begins to remember....It seems crazy
to hear many of your classmates talking about retirement. I don't
consider myself old enough to do that yet, but if I count years.... You
think when you go to one of these that you will get to see all the old
folks, and you discover you are the older folks."
Sharon:
"The reunion was such a success, everything that we did to get ready for
it was worth every minute, hour and day that we put in it. I would do it
again tomorrow....As everyone was leaving Saturday night, several were
crying and did not want to leave. That may be the last time that we see
some of these dear childhood friends....Everyone seemed to have such a
good time and it took a couple of days for me and my husband to come down.
We kept remembering and reliving the get together. It was wonderful."
Gavane:
"My wife was a trooper - just sitting - listening - taking notes for future
things to hold over my head - etc....All in all though, I really only recognized
about four people from our class and that was because of the setting. Not
sure I would have on the street. Funny what time will do. By
Saturday night, I think most of our old friends again became good friends."
Gloria: "I'm going to set up a photo album with all the
pictures and keep the video with it.... 40th reunion was priceless."

At the 40th reunion in 1998, there was talk of a choir reunion at the
Y2K July 4th celebration. And it happened.
Ronnie was chief honcho at the choir reunion on the 2nd and also led
the church choir at the First Baptist Church on July 2nd and Bobby H. did
the preaching. Thank you, Sharon and Bill, for these pictures, too!
