The purpose of this website is to enable academics, agencies and individuals who are geographically distributed to share a common cyberdesk.
It is convened by Len Holmes, Senior Lecturer at London Metropolitan University.
At present Len is jointly editing a special issue of the Journal of Managerial Psychology, with Dian Marie Hosking (Aston University) and Margaret Grieco (Napier University), on "Distributed technology, distributed leadership, distributed identity: organising in the information age". | The website is linked with a Yahoo! Briefcase, a facility offered at no cost by Yahoo! UK and Ireland to individuals to store files on the internet, so making them accessible from any online location, eg between home and office, thus creating a 'cyberdesk'. By using this facility in a collective mode, members of a group can share access to files and the information they contain. This has the advantage over e-mail in providing a virtually central location. |  |

The use of this collective cyberdesk will form the basis of a case study and a toolkit for other groups wishing to make maximum use of the internet and World Wide Web to work in a similar distributed manner.
