Laura approves Hi,
Laura gives a vote of approval, as she studies a sample of the wall paper frieze chosen for her coming cousin.
I have James's photos this week, so you can share a look at how the family is coping, the other side of the world.

May God smile on you today,
Elizabeth

Self portrait Lounge room foundations Adding an entry porch
Last Christmas we gave much advice on how to break up the rocks that are under the foundations. After we returned home, James made good progress. Now we watch as James puts his photos on the web for us.
Fond farewell to the tractor Present lounge ready for transformation
The tractor was restored, and after making a courageous trip along the city streets, it found a new owner who promises to only drive it on the farm. James turned his attention to putting a window in the baby's room, while the new front room waits for a roofer.
James incognito in action I am not sure if these are in correct order - it looks like the helpers are putting a layer outside the blue insulation. last summer Barrie helped Penny paint the outside walls. Then James removed part of the wall, so the new window can be added.
New window goes here Helpers add insulation
Ben and Uncle Toby relax
Helpers relax, with work well done. Toby and Ben have a snack, while Angela helps Laura try out her new bike.
Laura approves of her bike
Penny writes - We are still trying to get a builder to extend the present roof, over the new room. Meanwhile we are keeping busy. James is going to paint the new outside walls this weekend and put the corner post up for the veranda. We are trying to decide which type of wood to lay on the veranda, then we can lay it.
We have nearly emptied out all the furniture from the babies room. The room looks so much bigger now. The fold out couch is in the dining room so we have a bed for Barrie. We are getting motivated to work on laying new wooden floors in the baby and dining rooms to keep busy. I feel so good right now it's a good time to do something so drastic. We have chosen special oil to coat the boards with, which doesn't have toxic fumes like the normal pvc coatings do. We are keen on recyled timber. It's just very tough choosing!
Churchyard moles at Longhope
Here in Forest Edge Group, we enjoy English summer. One treat is moles in the gardens. These are Longhope's Church-yard Moles, happily redesigning vacant land beside some of the gravestones.
Two weeks ago we paraded our 'Australian summer' outfits, now we have the winter woollies on again, and watch the rain being a 'tourist attraction', but not stopping the locals, who know this is the Summer Holidays.
Laura Laura Laura
Laura, just for her Papa Chris here in England, holidaying in France before moving house from Bradford to Chesham near London, where Carolyn has a new job.
We thank Nana Jan as she lives close and is able to visit Laura, Ben, Angela and Cameron often.
