The Story of the 137th SOW

Published March 7, 2001
The Metamorphosis is the story of the Eagle Task Force in their expansion years, right after the 137th TFW's disbanding after th Concorde incident, and up to the start of the European phase of hosilities in World War III. Though its initial release wasn't exactly New York Times Bestseller, it did surpass th expectations of its author. "Hey, it was a dream come true fo me just to get the bad boy published....and it has sold a lot more than I though it would as such an initially-low production work. Hopefully, you'll see more of this novel, in a cheaper, smaller format, soon." Brian commented when we were able to reach him. The novel has all the ETF characters we've all been waiting to see in action since "The Concorde Incident" and "Confrontation" hit paper in 1993-4, and since a few lucky Stallions got a look at the original workup for the "Elite Eagles" back in 1990. Though all your favorite characters are here, some of them pop up in Metamorphosis only as cameos, or in vastly different roles then they have been seen in other ETF works. For example, "Leggs" is a District Attorney, not yet the fighter pilot we all know she will become. Weighing in at over 530 pages, Metamorphosis is on a length par with Tom Clancy or Dale Brown novels, though, as Brian says, "It takes itself much less seriously." |
