To the Easy Echo Soldiers and Families,
It has been a hectic 6 months of high intensity training in preparation for our upcoming deployment to OIF. The soldiers have spent a great deal of time away from their families training and it is not over yet with a month long mission readiness exercise at the NTC this September. I apologize to the families for taking their Husbands and Fathers away from them so often, but it is essential that our unit is prepared for our up coming mission so that we can all come home safe. As we train to deploy, I do not want to lose focus on properly preparing our families for our departure. We have made great strides in strengthening our FRG, but we are not there yet. First, we need to ensure that our chain of concern and list of families and phone numbers is up to date and accurate. If you have not given up your information at a previous meeting, I encourage you to email our FRG leader Serpil Anthony at serpilanthony@yahoo.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The address to send mail to the soldiers at NTC is: Rank First Name, Last Name PLT, E Company, 1-66 AR BN Rotation 05-09 Fort Irwin, CA 92310-5000 *******Mail dates are between Sept 3 and Sept 23 ONLY******** It is recommended that mail not contain valuable or insured items. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I would also like to clarify the issue of 4ID moving to Fort Carson. First, Families will not be forced to move to Fort Carson while their Soldier is deployed. The 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division will move to Fort Carson no earlier than 120 days after redeployment from OIF. That is not to say all soldiers will move. Some soldiers will remain at Fort Hood and join other units while some soldiers will move with the Brigade. It is uncertain at this time who is staying and who will move, but the Army and the unit will keep the best interest of the family first. I wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you at our next meeting. Sincerely, CHAD W. CALDWELL CPT, EN Commanding |
