The Birth and Genealogy Of Jesus

  • Matthew traces Jesus back to the house of David and Abraham.
  • Jesus Christ is born in the town of Bethlehem.
  • The Baptism and Temptation of Jesus

  • Jesus goes to the Jordan River to be Baptized by John the Baptist.
  • Jesus was led to the desert by the Spirit, which is where he met the Tempter.
  • The Tempter first told him to change stones to bread.
  • The Tempter told him to jump off a cliff and have the angels save him.
  • Jesus avoided all of these temptations, and the tempter left him.
  • The Beginning of the Galilean Ministry
  • Began after the arrest of John the Baptist.
  • He went to live in Capernaum, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali.
  • Doing to this to fulfill Isaiah's prophecy.
  • The Sermon on the Mount and the Beatitudes
  • Jesus preached on top of a mountain to large crowd.

  • Jesus is crucified and then dies.
  • Jesus is laid in the tomb.
  • After three days Jesus raises from the dead, opening the gates of Heaven.
