Chapter 8 Journal: Called to Be Dreamers, Parables and Miracles
SLUH Summer Theology Mega Site

1. What is the one key idea of this chapter?
The main idea of this chapter is called to be dreamers. We are told to look at the parables and miracles of Jesus. I think a more appropriate title would be called to understanding. This is because Jesus wants us to understand the parable pf the prodigal son. He wants know about his suffering, death, and resurrection. He wants us to see what his miracles meant, and that he could heal us too. These are the three major ideas of the chapter, which I believe that we can apply to our lives. We can sometimes understand someones situation, and help them. Sometimes we cant, but we should always try.

2. Write about two major ideas you want to remember. Write a short paragraph on each clearly stating the idea and then telling why you want to remember it.
The first idea I want to remember is Jesus as the Good Shepherd. This, to me, is a very important role of Jesus. I was born on May 6, 1990, which was a Sunday and the Feast of the Good Shepherd. I find this subject very interesting. Jesus is the Good Shepherd he cares for all sheep, and he goes after one if he needs to. This is another side of Jesus as the savior. Shepherds are mentioned very frequently in the Gospels. I have done wrong and through life I will continue to, but Jesus will always come and find me.

The second idea want to remember is the different types of miracles Jesus preformed. I find this important because it reminds us that Jesus will heal any us no matter what. He preformed four types. These are: miracles of healing, miracles of exorcism, miracles over nature, and miracles over death. All of these show us Jesus love for life and his power that he does receive from God. It also reminds us of Jesus greatest miracle, his resurrection. This being the root of Christianity, it is very significant.

3. One image that captures the chapter for you.

4. One significant question you have from this chapter. It can be intellectual or personal.
Up on question one I said that the main idea is called to understanding. I dont understand why the chapter is called to be dreamers. Why is this so? Is mine good as well?
