Overall sequence of events

The ten nations some believe will come from the Old Roman Empire. There are those who say this prophesy was fullfiled in Jan.1,1981 when Greece became the tenth nation in the European Common Market. Though this is possible we must be cautious and not presume anything to be true untill we are sure of the fullfilment. Whatever the ten nations or political organizations turns out to be we know this is one of the first signs of the end times events.

Dan 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

Rev 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

The next thing we see is a power, probably an individual, that comes up from these original ten that takes control by taking three of the original ten down. This person or political power will do great things and seem to bring peace to the world. People from many countries will think him to be the greatest leader to ever live.

Dan 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

I think this leader will bring the the peace between Isreal and her surounding nieghbors. He will have an agreement or contract with Isreal and will allow her to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. This leader who makes the peace will be non other than the anti-christ himself. His contract will probably begin the last seven years of time. In the middle of the seven years he will break the contract and desacrate the temple. Read Isa.28.14-18

Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Somewhere during this time the anti-christ recieves the head wound. This may be political or it could even be a physical wound of the individual himself. He will be miraculously healed maybe even seemed to be brought back to life because it will impress the whole world. He might be left blind in one eye and even lose use of his right arm. Read Zech.28.14-18

Rev 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

I think that after this healing takes place he will then move into the holy place maybe setting up his headquarters in the temple in Jerusalem. He will speak against the nation of Isreal and their God and even claim to be God. This is the abomination that Jesus was talking about. Read Dan. 12.11 and Mat. 24.15

2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Dan 11:36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.

Dan 11:37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.

Once he sets up his control he will war against the God of Isreal and try to kill all the Jews much in the way Hitler tried. And in his war against the Jew he will also make war with the church because he is trying to destroy all that belongs to God. This is the time where Jesus warns all Judea to flee to the mountains. Mat.24.16

Rev 12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The whole world that does not have christ will follow and worship this beast or anti-christ who is driven by the devil himself. The tribulation will begin at the midway point of the last seven years of time. Dan.9.27

The Elements of the Tribulation

There are six main elements of the great ribulation which lead to the seventh final event, the last trump or the great harvest. I believe that these two events represent the same thing and that is the end of days. The great tribulation that Christ speaks of will take place following the abomination of the desalation. This will be the last tree and one half years before the end.

Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Some teach that the gospel must be preached to the whole world before the tribulation time begins but the Lord says that we will give this message all the way to the end.

Mat 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

The six elements of the tribulation will begin with the abomination of the desolation. These events as we will see will not be a seqence but a result of this abomination and all of them will last through the tribulation of the last three and one half years of time or 1260 days.

1. Jerusalem will be trampled by the non-beleivers or Gentiles for forty-two months. The anti-christ will order the persacution of the Jews and Christians. Read Rev.12,7-13 and Mat 24.15

Rev 11:2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

2. Some of the people of God will flee to the mountains or wilderness in order survive the persacution throughout this time. Most of these will probably be jews who will be accepting or have accepted Jesus.

Rev 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

3. Those who are hunted down and persecuted by the anti-christ, mainly the church, will even be lead to their death. Satan is allowed to overcome for the duration of the great tribulation. Read Dan.7.21,25; 12.6-7; Rev.12.17; 13.5-7

Rev 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

4. The non-beleivers and even the decieved beleivers will worship the beast and receive the mark.

Rev 13:4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

5. During this time the anti-christ will blaspheme God, the Temple and all that belongs to Him.

Rev 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

Rev 13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

6. God will send his two witnesses to speak and prophesy against the anti-christ for this same period of time. At the end the two witnesses are resurected and then the end comes, the seventh trumpet sounds, the harvest begins.

Rev 11:13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

Rev 11:14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.

Rev 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
