Ahhhh My first MOPAR! this is my current project :) its in good shape actually, just has surface rust! cause it was being sanded and it never got primed, then it sat out side, in Arizona, good for not rusting cars, however we in Arizona have a little wet season called monsoon, that why theres rust. :( Well for those of you who dont know I am only 17, So this car is a gold mine for me, it is a 1970 Duster 340, yes the #'s match :) how ever I am shy 1 bumper, my aunt needs to learn how to drive, she tweaked the fender and the bumper on a pole while backing out of a parking lot. thank god it wasn't tooo bad. thats why the right front is primer. this car cost me the initial price of $2,000 so it was a steal. its got the 727 torq-flite, and the 340 cubic incher! i love this car, it looks like a slow P.O.S but sitting just the way it is, it ran a mid 12 at the 1/4 mile! yea i know some of you guys have these 8 second cars and what not, but hey For a ONE legger, daily driver gas car, Thats not too bad. i feel soo special, i have the fastest car at my school, and im damn proud of it!

here is the better side yet again the surface rust. :( that wont be there after the 1st :) i have alot of time to fix that! For those of you who are wondering, yes, those are REAL Cragers! there mid 70's :) and i have a set of 5 :P

Ahh the interior! if any of you have seen a car from Arizona that has been sitting for a wile (in this case 10 years) you know that when you try to salvage the car there are 2 things that are missing from the car, one is Rubber, the other is the interior, sun rot is Really bad, especially on this 1970 factory interior :( it will all be redone shortly!
Heres a little funny story about my Duster, The hangout where I live is Speedway blvd. All the teens go there and hang out show of there cars most of which are annoying Honda's and Toyota's with cherry bombs on them, then there are a lot of old timers with some real nice rods! and some real sweet old iron. any way i was crusing up speed way, and this fire engine red 1970 Chevrolet Nova pulls up next to me, i look over and notice the nice 350 decals on the fenders. So im thinking, ohh great some Bad A$$ 350 is about to eat my lunch, he starts to gun that 350, and all i hear is "SUtttTER SpUttTTER, BAng! and then i noticed his car was no longer running, i started to laugh so hard i couldn't drive, of course he had his buddies in the car, some of which im guessing help him build that car, they start yelling, and i by this time had started to drive again, i get stopped at the next red light and i look over and i see that dang nova ,.. again! I was like Jeezs! so he signaled for a run to the next light, i was still giggling about the previous showing of the car, when he started to gun it again, so accepting the challenge, i put my 727 auto, in L1 and wait for the light. Then "green" I left the line with out the slightest squeal of a tire, (had a dang 1 legger with 3:23 gears in the rear end) and i look and that nova was pacing me i was like no way, so my car has a mean 2nd gear so i threw it in to second, and when i did i immediately gained 1 whole car length on him, then in 3rd and i realized that in less than half a block i was 3 car lengths ahead of him. so i backed off the throttle cause i knew he had nothing for me, just then i ear this Coughing roar go by me, and i see the nova drive by me, i started to laugh again and tell the passenger that was in my car, that the guy in the other car would probably say that he beat me, then i got the joyous pleasure of looking up just as a cop car pulled out ad gave him a ticket for drag racing. I got to laughing again and i had to pull in to the local circle k to cool calm down, about a minuite inside circle k and a filled 44oz of soda later I come strolling out strutting my stuff, but what to my surprise I see that nova parked next to my car, and the driver was sitting on his hood with the passengers of his car standing all around, i was thinking to my self, Ohhh S*** im about to get the snot beat out of me, Then he walked up to me and asked,? How the ? what the? I?? i was like, its my sleeper man! he was lie what do ya mean? i was like, what was the first thing you thought when you saw my car? he said " i thought it was slow and it sucked". Then i was like exactly, every one else says the same thing :) The important lesson that was learned from this is,," Chrome dont get ya home!" translation, make the car go before ya make it show, cause if you make it show people are going to want to go! :)
