Parking Brake

Ok, this isn't some tricked out way to modify it, it's just a little warning that it is a REALLY good idea to have one that is working properly.

Case in point....

Now don't start laughing just yet. When you stop in front of a deep mud pit to get out and poke a stick in it to see how deep it is and the trail appears to be level, you set your parking brake and your baja doesn't appear to be rolling. But, when you are a few feet away it DOES start rolling, right into the pit of muck. Now, just the front end dive bombs, but man oh man, it's sunk to the beam, just from rolling in. Many "damn it's" then emerge from your mouth and you must pull out all your tow straps and hand crank winch.

Alas, it only takes ten minutes to get out, but, that's ten minutes of sweating and swatting at biting flies that spawn in the damn mud pit.

So folks, the moral of the story is, if your parking brake isn't up to par then fix it!!!

But of course, there's a solution that requires money if you like spending. There's this thing called a "Park-Lock" that locks your hydralic brake system when you push the button, this would provide much more braking power when you don't want you baja to roll, like in front of a mud pit or on a steep hill. You all know that parking brake doesn't do jack shit on a really steep hill....
