Khwarazm Campaign

Campaign Background

The Khwarazm system (BD21'3781) for many years was an under populated backwater. The planet was initially settled on the southern continent by a mix of mostly French, Polish, and Czech farmers and miners. Later a large group of dissident Shiite Muslim Kurds and Uzbeks settled in the northern continent. The Islamic Federation blunted in it's expansion by the NRE has begun to ship many of it's dissident elements to Khwarazm. Many of these groups began to fight amongst each other and to raid southern continent. The IF then was forced to send in a large force of troops to restore order . These troops set up large garrisons (mostly on the southern continent) and orbital defenses were also deployed. Order was quickly restored to the southern continent the north was left to it's own........

The Alliance Of Convenience

The Alliance Of Convenience (AOC) as it has been unofficially referred to by many,was born of the fears and suspicions of the three powers involved. The NAC and The Mongol Star Empire have had good relations to include a non-aggression pact for the last 30 years. The NAC has also been on good terms with the Nea Rhomaioi (NRE) for some time. It was the suggestion of the NRE to include the Knights Templar in this alliance. This was done for two very pragmatic (Byzantine) reasons, one the Islamic Federation continued expansion had to be checked on principal. Two, the Knights Templar were too close to NRE territory for comfort, given the history or the NRE's perceptions of it. The MSE were highly concerned by the encroachment of the IF into a system so close to their own. The Mongols were more than happy at the NRE's suggestion to turn the system over to the KTS, as the empire could not spare the troops for garrisoning the system long.
