About the Prophet

There is very little known about the prophet Micah. We do know that he was from the small
village of Moresheth, in the foothills of Israel, was a contemporary of Isaiah and lived
in the early 700's B.C.

Micah preached against fraudulent merchants, exploiting the poor, and corruption among
priests, judges and prophets in Samaria and Judea. He also warned against the people
putting too much value in sacrifices, and not enough in loving God.
