GP30 No. 3006
As of September 1994
This unit is nearly in as-delivered configuration. I photographed it in Colorado Springs, where it was serving as the yard switcher and local power.
I shot both ends. Why I didn't take photos of the sides is a mystery that I cannot to this day solve...
Rio Grande's GP30s came in two groups, as shown in this table.

3014 - 3028 | Jan-Feb 1963 | Nos. 3014, 3027 later received large Rio Grande herald. Nos. 3021-3028 downgraded to B-unit status in 1972. |
