John_love

The second main theme throughout John's letters is the idea of 'God's love in us." John makes it very clear the only reason we can love one another, as he first talks of, is because God put His love in us through the Holy Spirit when we were rebron in Him. By being reborn in God we are made complete in His love. John often refers to the Holy Spirit as "truth" throughout his letters making the words love and truth almost coincide with one another. Without knowing the truth we cannot truly know love and love without truth is not real love at all. God coming into us through His Spirit is giving us the ability to love one another and to know the truth of God.
