Dark Passion Rules
First of all...Greetings and Welcome to the House of Dark Passion. Tis grand to see everyone here. ~+~smiles~+~...This House will be a House in the Vampire realm unlike no other.For we ALL are going to make this clan as strong and enjoyable for as many as wish to pass threw the entranceway. ~+~dramatic pause~+~ This House will be mirrored from a game by "White Wolf Publishing" entitled "Vampire: The Masquerade". There are many different types of Vampire clans within the game. The clan's represent different groups of "people" within society. Some clans recruit business people and politicians to achieve their goals (like the Ventrue clan), some recruit scholars, witches and warlocks (like the Tremere clan), etc,.etc. The clan that this House will be is Clan Toreador. Over the years, one word has been used by the other clans to describe the Toreador clan: Degenerates. Why? Let me explain ~+~another dramatic pause...clearing my throat before continuing~+~ The other clans are so wrapped up with their own petty affairs, discovering this, searching for that all kinds of stuff. As Toreador, their is only one thing that drives our hearts and passions.

Clan Toreador recruits artists of all types. Whilst doing so, the Toreador Vampire usually ends up socializing with "promising artists" that catch their eye. Most usually wish to embrace the mortal into the clan, capturing the person's artistic energies for eternity. Some may just wish that this mortal to be their life partner, as long as the mortal lives that is.~+~grins~+~ Over the years that the Toreador have been doing this, the clan has garnered a certain amount of respect and compassion for the Kine (the mortals). We realize that a lot of fantastic art is spawned from the mortals, and to be blatantly honest, the Kine ARE the Vampire's source of blood, that we need for our survival anyway.

And many other clans shun us because of our artistic endeavors and our relationship with mortals. Calling us degenerates, among other crueler names. I personally think the other clans are just jealous of our ability to feel and transmit emotion like no other clan...but...~+~shrugs~+~ they will get over it. ~+~grins~+~

As I mentioned before, their is one major thing that drives the Toreador clan. Art. In all its shapes, colors and textures. Most Toreador are those that delve into art that most people think of when a person mentions..."art". Such as photography, painting, writing stories, poetry, music, singing, sculpting, etc. etc. Then, their are those that are artists of "other things"...everything from architecture and masonry...to the art of politics, body art (everything from tattoos to physical fitness) and...one of my favorites...the art of seduction. Toreador clan members are generally artistic in their nature. It is what drives us...what keeps us going...to perform or do our art throughout eternity. It swells our emotions to the fullest, bringing about joy and excitement to our otherwise cold Vampiric hearts. Our emotions are very key to our survival...our emotions fuel the need...to snatch a paintbrush and create a masterpiece...the urge to pick up a pen and compose a poem. Tis why our clan is strongest in the one discipline that controls emotion better then any other...Presence. Our emotional side has also created the air of sensuality and sexiness within the Toreador.

Why? Because the Toreador are beautiful ~+~shaking my mane of dark hair about my shoulders, slowly grinding my hips around in the air...slight hissing noises emit from my fanged lips~+~...inside...~+~my hands seductively caress down my chest...slowly working their way down to my hips~+~...AND outside...~+~cocking my hip out to the side~+~ We are the hippest of the hip...the coolest of the cool. We are artists, trend setters, loners, thrill seekers, party throwers...From the lonely lil stripper down the block all the way up to the big record company executives and the million dollar rock stars. We are ARTISTS of ETERNITY and DAMN proud of it.

But we never...EVER forget what we are. Vampire. Creatures of the Night...the immortal nocturnal hunters of blood. Like the other clans, the Curse of Caine has stricken us as well. We are hunters...and when need be...killers. The "beast" within all Toreador Vampires is just as great as any other Vampire. It is our art, emotions, and emotional ties with the mortals that help's us keep our sanity throughout eternity. Tis also our way of "dealing" with our immortality and to help suppress the "beast" as much as possible.

Many think Clan Toreador are weak because of our artistic pursuits. Many think that all we do is party and socialize and can be easily overthrown and destroyed. ...~+~stops, growls low and scowls~+~...Many of those people are FOOLS. We are strong in our artistic endeavors, but we also have a mean streak 20 miles long. A quick-witted Toreador can normally talk and run circles around any who wish to oppose us. It is those that do not know us and what the clan is all about that wish to degrade us. Bait them into your trap...bring them in close...woo them for all you can. Then close in for the kill...

As Toreador, I encourage each of you to come up with a particular background and running storyline that will help develop your character and make them come alive in the room. For example, if you decide your character is a singer, maybe you might consider starting up a band to perform for everyone. If you are an actor, then portray yourself as one...looking for the next big movie deal. I encourage everyone to bring out a CHARACTER that people will get to know, love, respect, detest, etc., etc. You can be just about anything, yet keep in mind what I mentioned earlier. This will help keep the clan alive and fresh, and very diverse. I do not wish everyone to be a carbon copy of me, or anyone else. Just because this person over here is an actor, doesn't mean that you HAVE to be an actor as well....~+~grins~+~... But that doesn't mean that you CAN'T be an actor...I know their are many in the clan that are actors to SOME degree. ~+~snickers~+~

There are many different ways that one can become a part of DP. I hope to keep the clan diverse and different to make things more interesting for everyone.

For the Vampires, there will be three different "Caste's" within the clan for the Toreador vamps, made this way so that different people can be involved with the clan on different levels.

The first caste will be the "Knights" or "Military" caste. These will be the best Knights trained within the clan. They will be called upon by the Lord and Queen in times of need, either offense or defense and will be the one's that will fight for the clan when needed. The Knights will also be the one's that will guard the room when needed. They are to be dubbed "Knights of the Rose" and will be led by Christabelle Drakan {DP1}. She is the Leader and General of the "Knights of the Rose", and if you are within this caste, you will listen to and obey her instructions without question. Their should be little reason why problems within this caste should be brought to the Lord or Queen's attention. Christabelle Drakan {DP1} has total control (save for orders from the CROWN) over the Knights and will be the one that resolves matters within the Knights. For the Knights, her word is law. As for the entire clan, she is third in command of the clan, just under the Lord and Queen of Dark Passion. Respect and follow Christabelle Drakan {DP1} at all times.

The second caste within the clan is the "Ambassador/Councilor" caste. These are the thinkers of the clan, the one's that are the best speakers and negotiators and may act in an "Ambassador" (formal representative) role to other clans. These will also be the one's that any member of DP can go to for advice and to talk problems out. If the problem cannot be resolved, then that person and the Councilor shall bring the matter before Lord Devon and/or Queen Leila. The CROWN's word is final. Period. This caste does not yet have a Leader, but one shall be appointed by Lord Devon and Queen Leila when interested parties contact us for the position.

The third caste for the Vampires is what I think may help keep our clan "bumpin". The third caste will be a "Social" caste. These people will be in charge of helping to keep the room "alive" by scheduling events and such within the room. The Toreador clan is ALL about arts...of many different forms. And this caste will be the one's that will help schedule events so that the artistic sides of many can be expressed. Everything from serious art displays (poetry readings, concerts, plays, dances, art exhibitions, etc.) to just good ole fashioned "fun" events (dances, raves, stripping contests, etc.) will be included and planned out by this caste. When the time is right, this caste will have a GRAND task upon their shoulders...to plan and pull of the "GRAND TOREADOR BALL". More on that to come... This caste does not yet have a Leader, but one shall be appointed by Lord Devon and Queen Leila when interested parties contact us for the position.

Now, you don't necessarily have to be a Vampire to be a part of the clan. The Toreador clan are the one Vampire clan most attuned with the Kine (mortals). It is not unheard of for Toreadors to be socializing with mortals, relishing in beauty and decadence, sharing in their company and their love of the arts. Thus, if you and your character wish to remain mortal, then that will be perfectly acceptable. As a mortal, however, it is easier for the Vampires to terminate your existence, so one must be gracious and cautious. As a mortal, you may join any of the caste systems within the clan and participate as much as you can. But you will also have to abide by the rules of the clan as well. As a mortal, you will wear the tag {-DP-}, to signify your rank and your mortality to others.

Their will also be another section of the clan in which mortals can participate. This falls into the realm of the "slaves" and the "Blooddolls".

The slaves shall be the servants of the clan. Serving Bloodwyne, cleaning, serving at special events, etc. will all be duties of these slaves. However, the slaves are to be treated with respect and dignity. NONE of them are to be treated rudely and unjust. Only in the most extreme times in which discipline is needed shall these slaves be harmed. I have seen many places where the slaves have been treated like dirt. That will NOT happen in my House. Period. I have seen quite a few places in which the slaves are more "free" and fun-loving. That is what I wish them to be. Who wants to play a role in which they get abused all the time? No one that I know of...

There will also be mortals within DP that will be there for the main purpose of letting the Vampires feed blood from them. These mortals are called "blooddolls". They, like the slaves, will be treated with respect and dignity. They are the one's that will help keep the Vampire's eternal hunger down to a minimum. The blooddolls can make their choice when they join if they wish to be bound to one particular Vampire to feed or are their for the whole clan to feed from. They will also be allowed to perform slave duties if the wish to, making them a "slave" AND a "blooddoll". If a slave wishes to become a blooddoll, all they have to do is gain the approval of the Lord, Queen or Slave Trainer ely'anna.

The slaves and the blooddolls also have a Slave Trainer as a leader. Her name is ~ely'anna~ {CROWN}{+DP+}~CW~. She is in charge of all slave and blooddoll activities within Dark Passion. She is the most immediate person in charge of the slaves and blooddolls and they shall go to her for instruction and advice. If she is unavailable, then they shall come see the CROWN for ruling.

Lastly, there will also be those with Dark Passion that are not of the Dark Passion bloodline, nor slaves, but are honored guests and/or advisors to the clan. They are to be treated with the honor and respect that befits a DP member at all times. They shall wear the tag of {*DP*} to signify this role within the clan. The CROWN are the ONLY ones that will administer this tag.

I. Any new membership must have the approval of the CROWN.

II. All...all and *ALL* embracings MUST have the approval of the CROWN.

III. The tags of the clan are...as follows: (note: The term "embraced" means that one has been drained of their blood and made a DP Vampire)

~DP~ - worn ONLY by the CROWN of the clan, Lord Devon and Queen Leila Drakan. They are the elders of the clan and are to be respected and obeyed at all times.

{DP1} - this tag is worn by those that are embraced into DP by the CROWN.

{DP2} - this tag is worn by those embraced into DP by any {DP1}

{DP3} - this tag is worn by those embraced into DP by any {DP2}

{DP4} - this tag is worn by those embraced into DP by any {DP3}

{DP5} - this tag is worn by those embraced into DP by any {DP4}

{DP6} - this tag is worn by those embraced into DP by any {DP5}

{*DP*} - this tag is worn by honorary members of DP, not embraced into DP, allowed membership by the CROWN ONLY

{+DP+} - this tag is worn by those appointed by the CROWN, not embraced into DP, but those with a position of authority.

{-DP-} - this tag is worn by the "normal, decadent" mortals of DP.

{-dp-} - this tag is worn by those that are prodigies of a current DP member

{dp} - this tag is worn by the slaves and the blooddolls of the clan.

{dp}{s} - designates a slave of DP

{dp}{b} - designates a blooddoll of DP

{dp}{sb} - designates a slave AND blooddoll of DP

There will be NO titles of "Prince", "Princess", or any of the like. This serves 2 purposes.

(1.) As the clan is a clan of equality, your generation ({DP1}, etc.) is the deciding factor of respect and leadership. Everyone has a say in the clan as a whole. Certain circumstances will call on people in authority to make command decisions and to give orders. Those people know who they are.

(2.) This will help curb those that wish to join the clan ONLY to gain authority and prestige.
