Welcome to Dragon Breath Grotto

The Dragon Breath Grotto is a Venturing Crew focused on Caving and related activities. Even though we're located in Chester County Pennsylvania, we'll welcome discussions from anyone interested. This Grotto Crew is in it's infant stage and just starting out. Share your Caving or Venturing stories with us.

This is an Independent Youth Grotto specifically for young men and women 14 (and completed the 8th grade) to 21 years old. We are registered as Venturing Crew 9 with Chester County Council, BSA, and Chartered by the Honey Brook Lions' Club . But, we are run like a Grotto of the National Speleological Society.

Meetings are monthly with monthly day trip to caves local to Pennsylvania. Weekend and longer caving trips can be planned to the needs of the voting memebers of Dragon Breath. The possibilities are limited only by members ambition and imagination.

Information you need to know for caving

There are a few things that are useful to have while caving. To be safe you must have the minimum equipment on this list.

The Boy Scouts of America and the National Speleological Society have co-authored a document on safe and ethical caving policies. Dragon Breath follows this policy.

Don't let lack of equipment stop you from joining in the adventure. Let us know your concerns and issues.
