Weights: Senior Bucks- 9 pounds and over
     Senior Does- 10 pounds and over
     Intermediate Bucks- not over 10 pounds
     Intermediate Does- not over 11 pounds
     Junior Bucks & Does- 4 1/2- 9 pounds
Body Type: Semi-Arch
Fur Type: Normal (Flyback)

Faults: weak ankles; lack of arch; appearance of a crown
Severe Fault: poor flesh; the arch starting behind the ears
Disqualifications: ears being less than 21 inches in length; pigeon breast; extremely light bone; ears having excessive tears, holes, or blemishes

History: The English is another of the older known breeds. The first time they were seen was in Algiers, North Africa. Then on spread out through Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. In 1854, they were mentioned in “Pigeons and Rabbits” by Delamer. Breeders competed with each other to get longer ear lengths than others. In 1985, the ear
length of 24 inches (to be measured tip to tip) was recorded as the longest in England. Now 30 inches was the longest amount, until the 2003 Convention in Wichita, Kansas where this was broken.

The English Lop can not be shown until their ears reach 21 inches, on all ages. They usually reach their full length by 4 months of age, but can receive about another 1/2 an inch through skull development.
