This breed is a result of selective crossbreeding, there was no mutation involved. They made their final showing to become a recognized breed at the Madison, WI convention in 1988, the same year as the American Fuzzy Lop and the Mini Rex. Fun Facts: The Broken Pattern passed all the required showings at the 2003 Convention in Wichita, Kansas. They can start showing competitively starting February 1, 2004.
