American Fuzzy Lop Groups (in dark) & Varieties: Agouti- Chestnut, Chinchilla, Lynx, Opal, and Squirrel Broken- Any recognized variety in conjunction with white Pointed White- Black, Blue, Chocolate, and Lilac Self- Black, Blue, Blue Eyed White (BEW), Chocolate, Lilac, and Ruby Eyed White (REW) Shaded- Sable Point, Siamese Sable, Siamese Smoke Pearl, Tortoise Shell, and Blue Tortoise Wide Band- Fawn and Orange Weights: Senior Bucks- not over 4 pounds; Ideal 3 1/2 pounds Senior Does- not over 4 pounds; Ideal 3 3/4 pounds Junior Bucks & Does- 1 3/4- 3 1/2 pounds Body Type: Compact Fur Type: Wool Showroom Classification: to be shown as Broken Pattern or Solid Pattern Faults: long, narrow body; heavy trimmings on the head, course or hair like wool, wool covering the ears Severe Fault: long or fine bone Disqualifications: wool under 1 1/2 inches, soft silky wool History: They are still a new breed, just being accepted in 1988, the same year that the Jersey Wooly, and the Mini Rex were accepted. They came from the Holland Lop, which sometimes throw what is called a “Wooly Holland”. This was caused by breeders breeding an Angora into their imported Holland Lops to help improve the fur.
