Rabbits need to get excercise. For my rabbits we have play pens, so that they can run around in the grass, and dig. You need to make sure that the walls are high enough where the rabbit can't jump over it. You also will want a cover over it so no cats or wild animals can get to your rabbit, unless you're there with you rabbit the whole time. You will want to move the pen every now and then, so your rabbit doesn't burrow under the walls. Only put one rabbit in it at a time (the reason there are two in the picture above to the right is because they were suppose to be breeding, but prefered the comfort of each other instead).
You also can get a leash to walk your rabbit on. I do not recommend rabbit leashes, only because there are small pieces that you have to use to get it on, that are really easy to lose. I use a small dogs harness for my rabbits, then just a regular lead leash that can clip on.
Unlike dogs, rabbits usually go where they want when on a leash.
You can train them to walk on it, as people have done this for a competion called "Rabbit Hopping". This is similar to agility for dogs, but is for rabbits which hop over different hurdles while on a leash. This is really popular in Europe and is just coming here to the USA.
