[Mary Rider was the wife of Francis Rider, who was father of children [William] Francis through Sarah by his first wife, Adeline Lewis. The elder Mary Rider was the former Mary Ricks, sister to Martha Ricks Rider, shown here as married to Francis Rider, and Rider family bible records show that they married 31 March 1970, a few months before the census. Note that living two houses from this family was Mary and Martha's uncle and brother of Ransom Ricks, Ruben Ricks. Francis Rider, husband of Mary, probably died between 1867-1870. The elder Francis was a native of Germany. Another interesting note is that James and Lavina Junkins, who purchased Nancy Ricks' property in 1868, appeared on page 390, also, living at house number 92.]
