[Mary Rider was the wife of Francis Rider, who was father of
children [William] Francis through Sarah by his first wife,
Adeline Lewis. The elder Mary Rider was the former Mary Ricks,
sister to Martha Ricks Rider, shown here as married to Francis
Rider, and Rider family bible records show that they married 31
March 1970, a few months before the census. Note that living two
houses from this family was Mary and Martha's uncle and brother
of Ransom Ricks, Ruben Ricks. Francis Rider, husband of Mary,
probably died between 1867-1870. The elder Francis was a native
of Germany. Another interesting note is that James and Lavina
Junkins, who purchased Nancy Ricks' property in 1868, appeared on
page 390, also, living at house number 92.]

of him in Tishomingo County. Pink J. Stanley, born in February
1850, is now married. Pink appeared on the 1850 Marshall County,
Ala., federal census as the newest addition to the Stanley
family. Jane started to lie about her age with this census
report. Her true age as of 1870 was about 31. Jane married John
W. Ricks in Prentiss County on 14 December 1873. William Stanley
was ordered shot to death 31 May 1862 at New Orleans by R. S.
Davis, page 617, Series II, Volumn III, Prisoners of War, Alabama
Archives Military Record Library. Suspended from being shot 30
June 1862, by Benjamin F. Butler. Sent to Ship's Island or
