Set 3 starts with "Collision Course". It was several days ago that I watched that episode and I can't remember much. but I know I wasn't very impressed with the story and writing. Its a boring episode about some old black clothes wearing widow grandmom living alone in some planet. At the beggining of the episode Alan in his eagle go thru a major explosion... But its not very believable because when we are shown the inside he's eagle all we see is a little line of blood on his head and the inside of the eagle seams intact. The acting isn't very believable either because when he talks he only whispers, as opposed to crying which is more normal for that type of situation. |
The next episode is "Deaths other Dominion". Don't even watch this one! This one was very weak. Some humans supposedly have been living in some ice/snow covered planet. Imagine the north pole! The scritp/story is weak and has lots of problems. In this planet we see two men: "A supposedly sane one" and an annoying "Shakespear" talking "insane one". The "supposedly sane one" invites alphans over, while the other guy doesnt want them over. Now heres where things start to not make sense: Koening brings all the important people from alpha with him to the planet! (I mean dude, if you don't know whats down there...shouldn't you send a guinea pig instead?) Then there is another problem with the script: They were invited down there by the "sane one". Well when the alphans descend on the planet misteriously nobody receives them and they get lost in the snow. After all this bordom...they find the "sane one" which happens to want to use the alphans in an experiment to find eternal life. OK? Why would he want to find eternal life in some ice/snow covered planet that makes Norway look as exciting as IBIZA? | ![]() |

Then comes "Full Circle". This episode feauters "our" boys landing on a planet that looks like a tropical jungle on earth. Visually it looks really cool to see eagles within the jungle and see the uniformed alphans within the jungle. Actress Zienia Merton is excellent. She's an astonishing actress. The movie industry probably didn't allow her career to blossom because she's not anglo white. |
I couldn't also help noticing how Zienia looked so similar to Iranian singer Googoosh in her early 70's period. Check out the scan of her 1972 seven inch single "Kaj Kolaa Khan". In this episode you also get to see lots of men with little clothes on. | ![]() |

Visuals aside, the storyline is boring and hard to believe. Supposedly when the alphans walk into foggy areas of the jungle, they are suddenly converted into ancient cave men! Yeah right! Then, since they are cavemen, they cant talk so they holler annoyingly for the entire episode!. |
"End of eternity" is on Set 3 too. I had this one on video so I wont elaborate on it. But basically...visually the episode looks interesting. But its really boring, consisting of this hunky guy throwing people all over the ground like this was one of those joke Wrestling things. | ![]() |

SET 3 Continues with "WAR GAMES". This one is the "french movie" episode of space 1999. You know, one of those movies that start with the ending and so and so. It is visually very cool. We see lots of Alphans killed. Lots of cool space ships. Unfortunatelly this episode, which could have been great is spoiled because the only aliens that Koening has to deal with in this movie are such DORKS! They are just not believable. Even visually the two aliens look like a joke! This spoils the whole movie. |
"LAST ENEMEY" is the next one. Here the moon approaches some solar system consisting of two planets at war with each other turning around the sun. Once of the planets is inhabitated by foxy chics surprisingly dressed in 70's fassion clothes. They must have subscriptions to Vogue magazines in these remote planets! Anyway these ladies use alpha as a platform to bombard the other panel. In a way its a good episode. People lie and cheat. Then theres space ships and explosions. The only problem is that Koenings role as the commander of alpha is not very belieble. Any commander would have handled the situation differently. | ![]() |

Set 4 has "Troubled Spirit", which I made an animated gif off it and is on my site somewhere. I had this on video, too. The guitar concert at the beggining is very cool and different. The next episode is "Space Brain" which I also had on video and so I'll skip (I don't think it was a very good episode). Then comes "The infernal Machine": This episode is weak! For most of the episode you see Koening and company locked in the interior of a spaceship listening to some annoying and cocky old mans voice giving them orders! |
"Mission of the Daryans" is next! This one is a good episode. It feauters Joan Collins wich does a good job. Is she in this movie because she's had lots of plastic surgery? The story is too complicated. So I wont bother. But you get to see a lot of skin here and there are some great SETS here. The story/script has some areas that are not very believable. | ![]() |

"Dragon' Domain". The title is the same as the famous Italo Disco song by "Koto" from the mid 80's. You know, I just have a hard time believing octopuss-like monsters. OK? Another annoying additon to the episode are "Memoir" narratives by Helena and later Koening. During the episode we have to listen to them narrate their diaries! Must have been a suggestion of some idiot american "marketing" idiot! |
"Testament Of Arkedia". I like this episode! This episode has no bells or whistles! No grand space ships and explotions! Yet it works, because the story is well written and is believable. Ever wondered where "ancient" languages and "writing" comes from? Well, in this episode alphans land on some planet, and they find "sanscipt" written on some rocks. Supposedly the habitants of that planet brought seeds and writing skills to earth millions of years ago. | ![]() |
