CHART COMMENTARY
Sash!’s third single from the multi-selling 2nd album “Life Goes On” was “Move Mania” which featured 80’s icon Shannon on vocals (known for her ’84 hit “Let the Music Play”) the single had a hard mission trying to repeat the enormous success of “La Primavera” and “Mysterious Times” – but was still a hit in different parts of Europe.
It charted at a #8 position in the United Kingdom giving Sash! the 6th straight top 10 hit. Other top positions were notched in Finland and Italy - a country were dancesingles rarely enter the high positions on the single chart.
In the benelux, Germany and Switzerland the result was however a bit of a dissapointment. A lot of the reasons for that has to be because the enormous sales of "Life Goes On", but in some regions better results was expected.
In the dancecharts & in the airplaycharts did "Move Mania" perform better, not so strange when you hear this groovy, funky piece of eurodisco inspired of the 80's disco era.
The video was shot in New York by Oliver Sommer who had directed all previous videos (except "Mysterious Times") the story was inspired by the lyrics in "Move Mania" where Sascha "controlls" peoples, cares and everything that moves with a special controller, the video fits nicely in to the track.
Before release a "single/video edit" was made a bit different from the album version. The intro was changed and some effects was added in the song to give it more "push", the effects in the songs works very well with some cool shots in the video.
The other Sash!-producers Ralf & Thomas appears briefly in the video: Ralf is stopped when he drops newsletters in some stairs and Thomas is stopped when jumping infront of a fountain he is also later catched sitting on the fountain.
