"Ganbareh" saw the light on April 22nd 2002, on the official Sash! site (samples of "Ganbareh" and "The Sunset" was put online) The actually release was finally June 10th. Beeing the 1st single meant that success had to come, and Sash! has always had big 1st single hits on the previous albums. However the result was at least in the beginning a bit of a dissapointment. "Ganbareh" charted at #16 in the Danish chart almost instantly and had good success on the German dancefloors but after this not much happened.
...Until it became a superhit in Spain! peaking at #3 meant it was one of the top 3 biggest Sash! success archieved in Spain ever (compare: "Adelante" #11) it was no doubt that the success in Spain was the highlight for "Ganbareh".
Other good performances included yet another top 50 hit in Germany (although most people hoped for somewhere around the 30's and 20's) and again a success in Australia, far from the #4 position archieved by "Adelante" but still in there.
What many fans reacted over was the fact that "Ganbareh" did really well in some areas but not good at all in some countries where Sash! have had success in before, the explanation to this was by many that Virgin, the new recordcompany, didn't deliver and/or promote the single well. That's a shame because in those areas where it got the support it deserved, it also became a hit.
