Saved by an Angel By: Michelle

It was midnight.

A young girl sat alone, absentmindedly curling a lock of brown hair around her slim finger. Dancing couples waltz around before her and groups of people at each dinner table chatted about mindless happenings had made no effect on her. Her vision of the dancing people blurred and the tedious babbles slurred in her ears. She was in her own little world, thinking about her dreadful arranged marriage to a man who married her not for love, but her money. Across the ballroom her finance stood, she stared at him with a harsh disgusted look as he tilted his head back and laugh at some stupid joke and took a sip out of the delicate wine glass he held.

Her hand clasped the ring that hung around her fragile neck which belonged to her mother, who passed away in a car accident when she was merely six years old. For eleven lonely years, she lived with her workaholic father who showed no love to her as a child. Now that she’s at a marriageable age, her father engaged her to a man much older just to rid her from his presence. A lonely tear escaped from her sad eye as she thought of the dreadful future with a man she knew nothing about.

“Rinoa are you all right, dear?” a woman at her table asked the colorless child.

“Excuse me,” she whispered, and abruptly left the table.

Frost bit her skin as she ran as fast as she could from this prison and into the wild darkness of bitter cold. Tears streamed down her face and seemed to turned into ice as she ran without glancing back. Her thick shoes slowed down her escape and she kicked them off, picking up her long gown as her running pace increased. Her smooth chestnut hair fell from it’s elegant twist and descended down her back.

Suddenly, she felt as if she slammed into a stone wall and she landed with a huge thud. Rinoa’s head ached from the impact on the hard ground and she squinted her eyes tightly to make out the blurred vision of three tall shadows towering over her.

“I think you knocked her out cold, Seifer,” one man laughed.

Rinoa felt a hot breath in her ear. “Are you all right?” a rich deep voice asked.

Before she can protest, she was lifted by strong arms and was carried away. Rinoa buried her face into the stranger’s neck and weeped. Never before in her life had she cried on anyone’s shoulder, and she didn’t care even if this person was a stranger. The pain and sorrow within her exploded and she needed to be comforted.

“Shh, hush now. You’re safe,” the deep voice said again.

Rinoa curled up in the stranger’s arms and wrapped her arms about his neck, feeling safe and wanted. A burst of bright light made her shut her eyes.

“STRANGER?” a voice belonging to a woman stated firmly.

Rinoa felt a deep chuckle in the man’s chest. “Bring me hot water, soap, and a clean shirt.”

Rinoa felt herself being carried upstairs and then being tucked into bed like a precious bundle. As he did so, Rinoa got her first look at the man who rescued her. Small yet adoring blue eyes bore into her and she felt herself go numb at such stunning sight. She saw a sparkle of laughter in his eyes as he gave her a warm smile, a handsome face topped off with short and fair blonde hair.

A small knock on the door interrupted Rinoa’s inspection of her rescuer as he got up to answer it. He’d have to be the largest man she has ever seen. His six foot frame towered over her. The depth of his chest was probably twice the size of her waist. The gray fitted shirt he wore underneath his white trench coat, which flowed behind him gracefully as he walked, showed indentions of massive chest muscles.

“Drink this, it should warm you up.”

He cupped her chin with one hand and brought the hot cup of tea to her mouth, and urged her to drink it slowly. Setting the cup down, he dipped a cloth into warm water and began to washed her face which was slightly covered with mud. She watched in awe as his immense hands, which seemed to be the size of her face, washed her tenderly and carefully. After her legs and arms were washed, he rose and took her hand, gently kissing it.

“Take off that muddy dress and put this on,” he tossed her a clean white T-shirt. With that, he left the room, shutting the door behind him.

Rinoa drifted off to a content sleep with a smile plastered on her lips.

Seifer came back with a tray loaded with food. He tried to waken the girl but she just snuggled deeper into the thick covers. Shrugging, he dove into the food himself and watched the girl sleep, her arms twisted about above her head and his shirt she wore was in a tangled mess. After he finished his food, Seifer took off his clothes and only clad in boxers, slipped between the sheets and pulled her to him. He inhaled the smell of roses in her hair and ran his hands over her stomach, feeling the softness of her body. Rinoa turned to him in a half daze between sleep and awake, and threw her arms over to him. Seifer took this as a sign to continue and began to devour her neck with his deep kisses.

“Sweet. . .” he mumbled as she moved her head to one side, allowing him to engulf her whole neck and shoulder. He kissed her eyes and cheeks before kissing her mouth, his lips parting slightly savoring her lips.

Rinoa smiled, she has never had a man come this close to her and never felt what it’s like to kiss a man. She instantly liked it too! She held his face with both hands and kissed him violently. He gave a slight chuckle at her sloppy kisses and rolled over onto her. Seifer’s large hands roamed her body as Rinoa squirmed beneath him, still holding his head to hers for her to kiss. When his hand touch her breast, her body froze with bliss as volts of pleasure soared through her body. Suddenly, Rinoa arched her back at the sharp pain she felt. Her eyes shot open and her body lost it’s feeling of pleasure. Rinoa pushed against away from him but his weight bared down on her and didn’t budge. She clawed her nails into his thick strong arms but it was no use.

Seifer drove himself into her, his desire for her was intense and did not hear her protests or even notice her clawing the skin off his arms. His head was still fuzzy from the hard wine he had at dinner. Somewhere, he felt he hit a minute wall within her and he knew he had made a mistake, yet he could not stop. He continued his lovemaking until he reached his peak and fell limp against her. He felt Rinoa’s delicate small body beneath him began to shake and heard muffled sobs escape from her.

It was early morning and the sun’s gentle morning rays beamed through the window. Seifer rolled off of her and didn’t look at her. He began to dress, stepping into his black pants and pulling his gray fitted T-shirt over him. When he had put on his black boots, he glanced over at the girl and saw she was hidden under the thick covers, a lock of brown hair fell to the side of the bed. Sighing, he went and sat on the bed next to her and stroked her hair, but she flinched and rolled away from him.

“Who are you?” he asked gently. But the reply he got was a bunch of sobs. He pulled her over with one strong arm.

“You hurt me! Get away!!”

Wincing at the tone of her voice, he frowned. “I know I did, I’m sorry.” His temper lost. “Damnit!! You throw yourself at me last night. How was I supposed to know you were a virgin?” He looked into her innocent brown eyes and cursed at himself. How could he even think she was just another whore on the street? Maybe because he had too many drinks with Raijin and it was dark he couldn’t see that she was an upperclassman with a delicate doll face and perfect long streaming brown hair.

“I guess all I can say is that I’m sorry for what happened. I had mistaken you for someone else,” Seifer then thought of how this girl might be a daughter of a wealthy man, and ruining her virginity with his error, he then realize the seriousness of what happened. “Maybe I can speak with your father and give him my apologies personally.”

“No!” Rinoa blurted. How can she return to her father, a powerful emotionless man, with this stranger confessing what they had done together? “Just give me some clean clothes and I’ll be on my way.”

Seifer looked at this girl with shock on his face, but considered this for a moment. “Why were you running around by yourself under the bridge so late at night?”

“That is my own personal business and you shouldn’t worry about me. If you don’t mind, I would like to be on my way now.”

Seifer smirked at her, liking her strong pride. “I think I can manage that. But I’m not letting you out there. You know what happened to you last night.”

Rinoa narrowed her eyes at him, “And what worse could happen to me than what you did last night?”

Seifer was taken back by her harsh question. “Your fate would of been worse if you didn’t run into me. It would be a violent version of what we just did. Now, tell me your father’s name so I can return you safely to him.”

“I’m not going back.”

“Then you’ll stay with me?” he grinned.

“I demand you give me clothes and release me at once!”

“My, my. Such a violent temper for a young lady,” his eyes roamed her bare shoulders. “I think I like you.”

“Well, tough nuts. I don’t like you.” Rinoa huffed.

”Lemme introduce myself. I am Seifer Almasy, SeeD from Balamb Garden, and I’m pleased to meet your acquaintance.” He held out his hand to her.

Rinoa crossed her arms and held her head high, looking away from him.

“All right then, princess, have it your way. I’m not letting you go out to roam under bridges or by the docks. If you don’t tell me where you live or your father’s name, you’ll remain with me.”

“You can’t do that!”

He shook his finger at her, his face in all seriousness. “I made a mistake and now you’re my responsibility.” He walked over to the mirror and smoothed out his shirt and flinging the white trench coat over him. After he was done examining himself, he looked over at her.

“Come give me a kiss before I leave, love.”

But Rinoa just sat in bed, still nude, narrowing her eyes at him. “I hope you fall down the stairs and hurt yourself! I hope you drown in the ocean!”

He chuckled at her childish remarks.

“I hope I never-“

She was cut off when he lifted her easily out of bed with one quick strong motion of his arm and planted a gentle kiss on her lips. His other hand caressed her hip and thigh, enjoying the softness of it. Rinoa’s reaction was by pushing herself away from him, trying to dodge his lips. But his gentleness took over her body and she could do nothing but melt against his hard chest. She wrapped her arms around his neck and sighed, he had won.

“I’m beginning to hope I don’t find out where you live,” Seifer grinned at her.
