The history of dragon kind is a complex web of intertwining facts. Their species has had a roller coaster ride through time, never quite remaining stable. At one point, a long time ago, their race thrived. All dragons and their subspecies lived peacefully on earth along with their caretakers who nurtured them from hatchlings. Every dragon, no matter what kind, formed a special bond with their keeper. A bond that sustained the dragon. It was very simple for dragons to find humans to bond with, since there were so many dragon adoption agencies for that exact purpose.

One piece of information that was not available to the dragons and their bond mates back then was the existence of the flame. The flame is an eternal fire that symbolizes the existence of dragons on earth. When dragons first decided to populate the planet all of their souls gathered in one place, igniting the flame and from that Flame the ancestors of every other dragon were born. Ever since that day the flame reflects the current dragons in existence, if there were no flame there would be no dragons.

During the huge boom of dragons the flame was a fiery wall of immense flames, but slowly and gradually these flames started to fade away. As people slowly forgot about their dragons, being distracted by other things, the dragons began to disappear along with the flame. It was a slow process but eventually the dragon populations were dwindling, until they'd practically died out all together.

But the flame remained, although barely.

Three flickering embers, representing three species of dragon, refused to die out. These embers embodied the souls of all dragons and fought desperately for the sake of dragon kind. After many years these embers finally joined together, creating a small but significant fire. From that rekindled flame came the first of the Etassi Dragon eggs. Twelve all together. Male and Female of all six types. Each one representing an important part of dragon hood. Each symbolizing the strength of dragon kind and the perseverance they had to press on, even after their kind had all but died out.

With these twelve eggs, the dragons were reborn.

Thank you Chelsea for writing the history for me! ^_^
