Episode 25: Princess Kareoke
After spliting up at DigiTamamon's Diner with Matt and TK who leave to find Izzy, Joe and Tai have peadaled off across the ocean to find Mimi. Tai's digivice shows that Mimi is located on a huge castle on the shore of a beach. Whn Tai and Joe arrive at the castle they see many Geckomon and Otamamon running around in a frenzy. Tai asks why they are acting to high strung, and they tell her that they must serve the princess or else. Before Tai can ask any more questions the princess arrives and it turns out to be Mimi! Tai and Joe tell Mimi that she has to leave the castle and join them in the search for the others. Mimi tells them if she is going to be stuck in the Digi World she might as well live large and in charge. Tai and Joe try speaking to Palmon, but she too has noting to say to encourage Mimi to go with them. When Tai and Joe won't leave Mimi until she leaves with them, Mimi summons her Geckomon gaurds to usher Tai and Joe out of the castle. Outside of the castle the Gekomon lead Tai and Joe to a concert hall. In the hall the Geckomon show their dormat lord and master Shogungeckomon and they tell Tai and Joe about how Mimi became their princess:
The story of Shogungeckomon goes that he had entered a singing contest, but did not win and was so discouraged that he put himself into an eternal sleep, and that he could only awaken to a pure sweet voice. Because the Geckomon have no pure sweet voices, they could not awaken Shogungeckomon. A digimon named DemiDevimon showed up and told them were they could find such a voice. The Geckomon found Mimi and when she tried to sing, she forgot the words the first time. The Geckomon fed and pampered her until she would remember the words. Mimi would come up with excuse after excuse to avoid singing, but since Tai and Joe arried, and they're Mimi's friends maybe they could encourage Mimi to sing.
Tai beleives that no one will be able to get Mimi to sing, so he, Joe, and Agumon and Gomamon try to sing to wake Sogungeckomon up, but none of their voices are good enough. Palmon shows up and Tai points out to her how selfish Mimi is being. Palmon and Tai come up with a plan to get Mimi to sing: recording her voice on a kareoke machine. Later that day Palmon tries to get Mimi to sing on the machiene, while Tai and Joe stand by to record. Before Mimi starts singing she sees a micromphone line trailing form the kareoke machine, and figues out Palmon and Tai's trick. Later that night, Mimi locks up Tai, Joe, Agumon, Gomamon, and even Palmon in her dungeon. That nigh, Mimi has a dream that she is being attacked by evil digimon but no one will save her because she was mean and selfish to them. Still dreaming, Mimi "awakens" to find Sora standing over her. Sora tells Mimi the true meaning of the dream and that she must set her friends free. In the dungeon, the Geckomon gaurds release Tai, and the others and tell them that Mimi must speak to them. The Geckomon lead Tai and the others to the concert hall. Mimi asks for the forgivness from the Geckomon, Tai, and the others, and that she would be honored to sing for them. They forgive Mimi, and she begins to sing Shogungeckomon's song in her pure sweet voice. Shogungeckomon slowly begins to awaken, but in a grumpy mood, and is angry for beeing wakened! Gomamon and Agumon digivolve to Ikkakumon and Graymon. Palmon Digivolves to Togemon to protect Mimi, but Shogungeckomon goes after Tai and Joe instead. Graymon digivolves again to Metal Graymon to protect Tai and uses his Giga Blaster to bring down Shogungeckomon and the enitre concert hall. The next day, Mimi argees to leave with Tai and Joe to meet up with Matt, TK, and Izzy to find the last member of the group: Sora
