Felan is looking into Arolos Weyr.
Tall (6'0") and gangly, with sharp angles sticking out all over the place, Felan is so awkward that it's nearly painful to watch him cross a room. He has close-cropped, dark brown hair that often falls into his eyes. His hazel eyes are bright with curiosity, and closer to light green than brown. Felan has pale skin from being indoors so much, and doesn't tan very well. He has some faint scarring on his chest, arms, and back from an accident in his early childhood when he was pushed into the path of a half-blind and overexcited watch-wher.
He's hesitant and shy by nature, thanks to the teasing he got as a funny-looking child. Fortunately, Felan hasn't suffered too much emotional damage over it; he's accepted the fact that simply some people thought he looked odd, and as far as he was concerned, "that was that." Having taken on that motto to suit his general personality, he's eager to meet new people in order to show them that although he may look strange since he hasn't filled out as a man, he's still a nice person inside. He's not very easily embarrassed or angered, and he has a deep-set curiosity about the world around him. Strangely, he's recently felt a strange stirring inside, a sensation of needing to find a greater purpose.
Felan originally hails from Estuary Hold. When he was but a child, he loved to help gather the medicinal herbs; even then, he enjoyed the peace that came from knowing that he was performing a duty in a process that would help make others become well. His parents fully supported his enthusiasm, even though theywere both traders. When he was accepted as an apprentice with a healer at age 14, his parents bid him goodbye and best of luck. Felan writes to them regularly, but now he's happy and fully involved in studying something he has always wanted to do... or at least he *has* been content, until the recent restlessness. 1
