As you enter, you notice how unfriendly this bare, slightly musty room looks. You see a young fairy maiden reaching up to put some framed photographs on the shelf built into the opposite wall. She carefully arranges them in a visually appealing manner, muttering under her breath. She finally notices you as she turns back to the crate on the floor, and gasps in startlement. Then you let out a surprised cry of your own as you feel a tiny set of teeth latch onto your ankle; attached to the tiny set of teeth is a tiny gray furball with wings and a tail. You shake your foot vigorously, still panting and yelping while the fairy maiden rushes toward you, hands outthrust, wings fluttering, and toes barely touching the ground. "Bubboo, no! Let go! No biting strangers, remember! You'll get us kicked out!" She kneels down anxiously, taking the furball-- along with your foot and the rest of your body following along-- into her lap in one fluid motion. Tickling gently under the little creature's chin makes it let go; strangely enough, the tiny thing starts purring.
She continues petting Bubboo absently, leaning over to examine the bite marks around your ankle. "Oh my gosh, I'm so so sorry... please don't be mad, my Bubsy-Wubsy is just a baby gargoyle... He didn't mean any harm, it's just that you startled me and I guess he thought you were attacking me or something... please don't tell the Lady, I need this job so badly! See, we got kicked out from our home in Sweetwater Valley because Bubboo was on even worse behavior there. The Lady was nice enough to give me a second chance when my clan wouldn't, so please, please don't tell her about this! I'm so close to training him to be a good little gargie..." She trails off, sighing. "And I just started moving in, too..."
Feeling sorry for her, you reassure her that you won't tell the Lady about this unfortunate little incident, and she looks much more relieved.
"Oh thank you so much!" She giggles with delight. "I'm Bebhinn. Bebhinn Silverbrooke, officially the Lady's personal clerk to take care of registering award applications. Well, not yet, but I will be soon; she hasn't quite gotten around to filling everything out with content. Plus, with her having to go back to her schooling soon... Gosh. I wish I could help more, but I don't have any expertise whatsoever. Maybe you could sign the register at the crossing to reassure her?" She winks cheerfully. "I've heard pretty reliable rumors that if you even want to be considered for her awards, you gotta write something interesting in the register. Anyway, I'd better get back to my unpacking; I'm dying to spruce this place up!" She gives you a little wave, and Bubboo continues to watch you carefully.
