"I can't believe this happened," Janeway said sadly.

Tom Paris and B'Elanna Torres stood there silently, in black mourning clothes.

"Who could have known this was coming?" the Doctor chimed in, staring with troubled eyes at the casket containing Seven of Nine and Chakotay's bodies.

"Poor Chakotay," Torres murmured. "Who could have known sex with a borg would start the assimilation process?"

"Who could have known Commander Chakotay was so afraid of assimilation?" Tuvok added.

"And who could have known he'd react to near assimilation with homicidal rage?" Paris said.

"Who could have known he'd murder her?" Harry said quietly.
