At the age of five, he got signed onto Romper Room, but was quickly fired for being too uncontrollable.

Throughout his school career, he said he didn't enjoy it. There wasn't much that interested him. However, his drama teacher said when he did a monologue in class, he was so moving that he had the class in tears, otherwise, the kids thought this future King of the World, was a dork.

His first major feature presentation was William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, where he played Romeo to Claire Dane's Juliet. Shortly after that, in 1997, he would elevate to become one of Hollywood's hottest young actors, because of his role in Titanic, playing young vagabond, Jack Dawson. After that, he followed with an equally powerful role as twins in The Man in the Iron Mask. Then came Celebrity.

After his dizzying rise to fame, Leonardo would film The Beach, a movie about a young American backpacker in Thailand. He is currently filming The Gangs of New York where he plays a character named Amsterdam, and will start working on Catch Me if You Can after GONY wraps up.
