This page is my personal home page; it serves as a main entry portal to my personal pages, which contain many glorified bookmark pages, pictures, and some bits about me. In addition to my personal web site, I maintain the following five other web sites, but only randomly at times.
The History of the British Isles was originally conceived in 1998 for Hist 3151: History of the British Isles at the University of Minnesota, which covers British history from prehistoric times until 1625. The information and links assembled here, however, continue to be useful for anyone who is interested in the history of the British Isles. If you're interested in this site, you might also like to look at my collection of British History Course Syllabi.
British and American Women Writers was originally developed in conjunction with Breaking the Silence , which is taught at the University of Minnesota by Shirley Garner. This site centers on the theme of silence in women's writing and contains many personal reflections on the readings for the course, as well as relevant links to outside sources. Writers covered include Virginia Woolf, Dorothy Allison, Jessie Redmon Fauset, Tillie Olsen, and Audre Lorde, among others.
Colonial American History is under construction and is a mock site for an imaginary course in Colonial American history, structured as I would teach it.
English Composition Web Site. I developed this site for use by my composition students. It contains an interactive course syllabus with many useful links about researching and writing.
Laguna PTO The Laguna elementary PTO is my new project; it should start to look better in the 2004-2005 school year.
Before I graduated, I maintained the following site:
H-Grad is part of the Humanities OnLine initiative (H-Net) and is designed to provide graduate students with a safe, graduate student only forum for discussing a wide variety of issues related to graduate school in our chosen humanities-based professions.
I recently earned my PhD at the University of Minnesota--Twin Cities. My main interests are Tudor-Stuart England and colonial America and my minor is English literature. My dissertation discusses comparative aspects about witchcraft in the Lancashire region of England and colonial Chesapeake. The following are pages related to my studies:
