girl in lecture
by Dhamidhu Eratne
Our senses fused
Her eyes
a darkness of calm
amidst the madness of her hair
that flowed through me
Her nose
so straight
so still
a precipice
above an ocean of air
Her eyelashes wept
and the silence wept
too easy it was
to envisage such purity
futility -
- me, in a bus
digressing down nameless streets
taking me so far
further, and further
away
