with the fullness of her smile
by Dhamidhu Eratne
What she lacks
in idealistic proportions
She makes up
with the fullness of her smile
How a sun envelops the savannah
It overwhelms my dryness,
my wrinkly facades of boredom and ill-fate
The blue eyes quench this pessimism
She looks directly at me
when smiling
