1976
- The Buzzcocks' Howard Devoto brings twice the Sex Pistols at the Lesser Free Trade Hall for their first gigs in Manchester. Future Factory founder Tony Wilson, future Joy Division manager Rob Gretton and future band members Bernard Sumner and Peter Hook are in the audience. [src=AIFL]
19 Dec 1976: Music weekly Sounds reports many bands are forming after the Sex Pistols gigs. Between them are the Stiff Kittens, which are Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook and Terry Mason. [src=AIFL]
1977
- Tony Tabac replaces Terry Mason (which stays as a manager) at the drums. Ian Curtis joins the band which changes the name to Warsaw. [src=AIFL]
