Cleveland West Shore Alumnae Group
We are a group of women who enjoy a variety of activities, such as helping the Cleveland Sight Center, participating in fun social activities with and without our spouses, and ladies bridge.  Our group consists of women in all different age ranges from newly graduated alumnae to many 50 year members, including career-oriented women, and stay-at-home moms.  The two alumnae groups, the West Shore and East Side were originally one group.  We formed two separate chapters in 1955 and continue to share Founders Day each year.

MEMBERSHIP
There are 400 Delta Gamma Alumnae living on Cleveland’s west side. The chapter consists of approximately 90 dues paying members. An average meeting attendance ranges from 20 - 40. We maintain a database with careers, school attended and year of initiation. Every woman in the database will receive the first newsletter of the year which is printed in the fall.  The remaining three newsletters of the year will be sent to dues paying members and the programs listing will appear on this web site. There are other perks of membership, such as a copy of our directory which includes all the DGs living on the west side.

PROGRAMS
Our programs for the year include the September kickoff potluck, our December holiday party and ornament exchange.  Please see the Events portion of our web site.

FOUNDATION
Cleveland West Shore
Alumnae drive for the west side’s anchor club meetings, which is for sight impaired individuals.  Fundraising activities include an annual pecan sale, the Sally Foster Wrapping Paper sale, and “Make It, Bake It, Fake It” Auction.  Our proceeds are donated to the Delta Gamma Foundation and the Cleveland Sight Center.

SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS
We have a ladies bridge and couples bridge group.  Ladies bridge will run September through May.  Ladies will play once a month at arrangement of the foursome.  We are always eager for more players!  If you need a partner, please call Connie Lauderback or Margie Strimbu.

We also have a Happy Hour Hannah’s group for women that have graduated within the past 15 years.   All of the Happy Hour Hannah events will be listed on the Events portion of this website.

FINANCE
The Alumnae Group’s dues are $25 per year.  We also accept Helpful Hannah contributions which defray some of our operating expenses and Foundation donations, which will be donated to the Delta Gamma Foundation or the Cleveland Sight Center.

PANHELLENIC
We are a member of the local National Panhellenic Association. The Cleveland Area Panhellenic promotes a closer relationship between sororities and the community, along with collegians in the area.  Our group collects items for Ronald McDonald House where the CAP meetings are held and participates in a yearly fundraiser.

NEWSLETTER
The Cleveland West Shore newsletter is produced four times per year and informs members of coming events and past happenings. Features include communications from the president, a calendar of upcoming events and standing reports.
