Jeff and his parents

Jeffrey McDaniel Morgan

Jeff was the only child of my sister Betty and brother-in-law Mack.

They were devastated one day when they received a call from the hospital  emergency room.

Jeff had been rushed there by ambulance.
Sadly it was too late.
Their precious son Jeff was already gone.

The only thing anyone could tell them was  it seemed to be something to  do with his metabolism. Further test would need to be performed.

After a few weeks the coroner told them that Jeff's liver was enlarged which is sometimes found with alcoholism.
However Jeff did not drink.
Further test were to be done at another testing facility.

After weeks the results were available.
It was found that Jeff had a rare genetic disorder called

Hemochromatosis.

None of us had ever heard of it.
Test were performed on Betty and Mack and unbeknownst to them
they both carried this rare Gene.

The sad thing is that a simple blood test could have saved Jeff.
I hope that knowing about this rare disorder will help someone else to discover it for themselves or a loved one before it is too late.
