Third set and down by three goals. Injured players, low morale, some fans had left the scene. The opponent centrebacks even played as strikers...seeking for personal glories. Then came the magic words from Mahzan - "Just enjoy the game. Pandai-pandai ler main, jangan injured udah ler..."
And they enjoyed the game indeed.
A burst of speed by Suzeli resulted in the first goal. Then Romi got fouled, and Capt Nik scored from the spot. Five minutes before time, Mahathir fine through pass found Azam and the latter gleefully slotted the ball home. And the team erupted with joy. With sheer determination and the never-say-die attitude, MVFC proved that they were the actual winners in this match.
