This 2002 Annual Report aims to feature the significant and remarkable events of the Division of Biliran in its quest to become a Division of Excellence. In this report, we would like to showcase the year-round activities and achievements of the 9 elementary school districts and 16 secondary schools throughout the division.

This includes the following: 1) pupils and students performance and achievements; 2) the teachers' enhancement and training conducted; 3) the physical facilities improvements and proper utilization of resources; 4) the non-formal education programs; and, 5) the effective and modernized management of the Division Personnel towards attaining its vision.

This year, we would like to give emphasis on the implementation of the Restructured Basic Education Curriculum (RBEC), which has undergone a step-by-step preparation and series of trainings of core trainors and teachers. The First Division Teachers' Congress with the theme "Teacher, You Are The Key To Quality Education," attended by 1,368 teachers, district/secondary school personnel and 62 division personnel held on October 28-29, 2002 was a follow-through of the implementation of BEC.

Likewise, the remarkable contributions of the different stakeholders, which are paramount important towards attaining the division's vision, are also highlighted.

In general, this report hopes to highlight the different activities and accomplishments undertaken in the elementary and secondary schools in the division throughout the year 2002. In one way or another, it also aims to recognize and appreciate the concerted efforts of the pupils/students, the teachers, different stakeholders, the district/secondary school personnel and the division office officials and personnel as they headed towards achieving our lofty vision and mission.

In effect, may this annual report give us strong determination to provide access to quality education, encourage each one to go on, strive more and keep up the good work.
