Ever Again ~ Tasuki

Warnings: This fic has boyxboy content. PG13. Minor spoilers for the Eikou Den / 3rd OVA series, nothing crucial... just that it's been 10 years since the last adventure, Chichiri has become a wanderer again, and Tasuki has returned to Mt. Leikaku.

It was like seeing an entirely new person. But that couldn't be right...
Chichiri sure looked the same as he remembered… same grinning fox mask, same kesa and kasa in place over that lean physique… but at the same time his friend looked completely different, transformed by the melting warmth he felt pooling in his chest and the sudden ache in his arms. And seeing Chiri there, looking so goddamn beautiful, Tasuki wondered how he'd managed to even breathe without him these past years.
"Tasuki!" someone called. He barely even noticed, confused and overwhelmed by the sudden rush of emotions that he hadn't been able to name until just now. He had always thought they were feelings of deep friendship, respect and affection, but now he realized it was oh so much more than that.
Breathe, yes, he needed to do that very badly right now.
Suddenly realizing he was staring, he quickly pulled himself together, covering for his momentary lapse by saying something lame like... it’d been so long since anyone had called him by his seishi name that he didn’t realize they were talking to him. It worked. But it wasn't a total lie either. He had really forgotten who and where he was for a moment... had forgotten everything but the man standing before him and how utterly happy he was too see him again.
He'd be damned if he ever let Chiri go again.
