Dekema Shar-Pei

Dekema Shar-Pei calls an old farmhouse nestled in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia , "home". We are in various stages of restoration, which my husband refers to as "The 20 Year Plan". I am optimistic that we will not make our deadline.

I saw my first Shar-Pei on a Sunday morning children's program, "Wonderama", and it was love at first sight. It would be 15 years before I would own one of my own. As with many people, our first Shar-Pei, Abbe and Winston( known at the vet's office as The Thompson Twins ), were not show dogs, just wonderful companions.

In 1995, Dekema Shar-Pei was born, when we added our first show puppy, Chesapeake's Bang and Blame to our menagerie and . And just like potato chips, you find you just can't have one!!

Dekema Shar-Pei is not a kennel, but an active show home. Occasionally we have puppies. Our dogs are all family members first and show dogs second. We are proud of dogs, and love showing them off! So please feel free to look around and come back often. We are still under construction and things are always changing here!!
