Ballad of Soaked Man

by Weyrbrat Cali

Twas once a man from the north
who decided to give the south a peek
so on his friend's green
he ventured down to seek.

Purhapes a permanent residence he thought
and this lovely waterfall would be just the spot
for a young harper like me
to sit and think and write poetry.

But yet a goldrider strolled by
and did catch this young harper's eye
to make him follow her with glee
trying to act suave and charming.

But yet her blew him off
like the feather adoring his top
for you see twas his pride she shot
so with quick adu, the man went to the lake
for there are other fish in the sea
that would sigh and faun over thee
oh handsome harper, oh charming harper that was he.

And he slumpped out to the lake
and there a green dragon made his fate
without a word, just a draconic grin
the green picked the harper up and dropped him in.

Oh handsome dripping harper,
oh charming dripping harper,
where is thy ballad for me?
